Nita Modi BSc, DC, CACCP
Doctor of Chiropractic
Canadian born, Nita Modi Doctor of Chiropractic, has been in a chiropractor since 2003. Having practiced in Canada and Australia, Nita has settled in the UK for the past 10 years and has two amazing active boys. For the last few years while her boys were little Nita has been based at Canary Wharf offering a highly-skilled chiropractic service to office workers, and practicing from home seeing mostly pregnant women and babies. This year she has decided to start a new office in Hampstead Garden Suburb. As a vitalistic chiropractor, Nita is passionate about caring for the entire family, including mums, pre-and-post natal and newborns, and of course dads.
Nita was awarded a Bachelor’s Degree in Science from The University of Waterloo in 1999, and later Doctor of Chiropractic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in 2003. Since then, she has developed her practice with further training from the International Chiropractic Paediatric Association, recently granted board certification from The Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics of the Academy of Chiropractic Family Practice (ACFP) she has been designated with the CACCP as well as being certified in the Webster Technique. She also has a certification in both Contemporary Medical Acupuncture from McMaster University in Canada and Traditional Chinese Medicine from the CMCC. Additional training, includes Active Release Therapy (ART), Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT), Steve Williams Pediatric Series, Spinning babies, and UNICEF breastfeeding training. With a love of learning and drive for excellence, Nita continually develops her practice through seminars and continuing professional development courses.
Not content with the confining herself to one school of thought, Nita has drawn from many other disciplines to hone and develop her holistic, family-oriented practice. Early in her career, Nita trained as a personal trainer and fitness instructor and has studied nutrition over many years. Currently, she practices yoga regularly, starting a teacher training initiative to help people to move and feel better.
Having children has also been pivotal to Nita’s practice and her work with whole families has blossomed. Whilst on maternity leave, she trained as a NHS Breastfeeding Peer Supporter, working as a staff member and volunteer for NHS Brent, Barnet and Central London Community Health Care. Since having a home birth, Nita has also trained as a doula and supports her local National Childcare Trust (NCT) and volunteers regularly at different events in the community. She enjoys being involved in her kids school actively supporting the PTA.
She is a member of the General Chiropractic Council, United Chiropractic Association, League of Chiropractic Women, International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, and SOTO Europe.
She is provider for most insurance companies including Axa, Bupa, and Aviva.
