Breastfeeding is a beautiful, bonding experience but it can also be a serious energy drain.
In those early weeks postpartum, many new mums feel completely wiped out. And it’s no wonder why. Your body is working incredibly hard to produce nutrient-rich milk, recover from birth, cope with broken sleep, and respond to your baby’s needs around the clock.
Feeding can happen every two to three hours, sometimes for long stretches, and the physical, mental, and emotional load of early motherhood is intense.
It’s easy to fall into the habit of always doing – replying to messages, tidying the house, folding laundry – even while feeding. But feeding time can also be your time to rest.
Those repetitive, round-the-clock feeds are an opportunity to pause. To sit. To breathe. To hydrate. To reset.
As a chiropractor, I work with many new mums who feel depleted, achy, or out of balance – not just physically, but emotionally too. That’s normal. Your nervous system, your muscles, your joints, your energy levels – they all need support while you’re giving so much of yourself to your baby.
Your recovery matters just as much as your baby’s growth. Supporting your body in this season isn’t selfish – it’s essential.
If you’re feeling run down or out of balance, I’m here to help.
Let’s get you booked in for a session to support your body and your wellbeing.
